Exciting Changes


 I am so excited for today's blog, as it's announcing something that has been a while in the making. In September 2024 when I started this blog I had no idea who the audience would be and whether people would even be interested in what I had to write. I was blown away by the response I received and in December 2024 it got me questioning the direction of this blog and how it could grow. I had originally intended on starting a YouTube channel, but personally that was quite a big feat, it takes a while to film the videos and even longer to edit them. However I recently have felt nudged again to do something more, so in early March I decided to create a new website for my blog that is going to include so much more for you and I hope will be a blessing. I hope to launch this new website in June and I do hope that you continue to join me on the journey.

So, what is going to be different and what can you expect?

#1 - New website with a variety of resources

At present my current blog site is limited and so it is hard to maximize it to it's full potential. It is definitely going to take some time for my website to be where I want it to be, but from the launch in June it will be a more functional website that allows viewers to get more from the website and the blog.

#2 - Two blogs per week

At present I am only writing one blog a week, this is partially due to my husband and I being in the middle of a house move, however in time we will be settled into our new home and it will allow me more time to focus on writing helpful content for you. This will continue to be relating to my day to day life, but as always using this to draw you closer to God in the process.

#3 - E-books

I want to create more in-depth support, this can be hard to do in short blogs. In June I will have a free e-book for you to download and I plan to create numerous e-books every year and potentially courses in the future. The e-book available in June will be about Biblical money principles. 

#4 - Newsletter

I will be releasing a fortnightly newsletter that you can sign up for. This will be a little more personal and will share updates in our life that I won't be sharing in my blogs. For example I'll be sharing updates on settling into a new home, updates on my heart operation and recovery and so much more. 

There are so many more plans in the pipeline, but I would hate to over promise and set expectations that I won't be able to reach for a while. My heart behind this new website is to spread encouragement even further and ultimately make it easier for you to navigate my blog. I hope you're just as excited as I am for this next chapter of 'Life with Helen Johnson' and I hope you join me on the journey.

What I wish I would have known before getting married

  Andy and I got married on the 21st January 2023. It was a wonderful day, finally months of stress had been worth it, we were married!  Enter marriage, or should I say enter months of wondering 'is this what married life is like?'. Do not get me wrong, I love being married to Andy, the first year had some incredible moments and I was so thankful to have him in my life, as my husband. But what shocked me, was how much preparation I thought I had done, to only realise I had overlooked so many important things! Our Walking Business

One of my favourite things to do is go for a long walk with my husband or with a friend and have a deep meaningful chat. I think there's something about walking that makes people open up and be vulnerable.  Back when my husband and I were dating (some time in 2021) my business minded husband Andy came up with the idea of starting a walking business. Andy did a business degree, so is always coming up with business ideas and somehow he's got me into it as well!  We decided to connect with an existing walking company called Walx, which have over 35,000 members across the country. Walx is an organisation that trains people up to lead their own walks in their local area and run their own business, with their own members. They deal with the booking systems and equip us to lead what I think is a pretty wonderful business. At the moment Andy and I are in training with the hope of launching our walking business in 2025.
